Folk Art Project
The challenge
Build a network to share ideas and artistic projects by engaging actively in researching and discussing folk arts all across the world. The aim is to create a platform for intercultural exchange and make people aware of indigenous culture and art practices to broaden horizons about existing cultures and break stereotypes. Also, the goal will attempt to preserve indigenous cultures that often get overshadowed by popular culture. The project's aim is to be multidirectional so it can benefit various indigenous communities across the by giving them a voice as well as contributing to digital fields such as AI and helping create a more inclusive database for the future. The project is currently at an amenable stage, therefore there are many possible directions it can take. However, focusing on and narrowing down this broad view to a functional project is challenging. I think at this stage gathering a team and researching the practical aspects of the project is essential.
The solution
Brainstorm with a team of motivated individuals who finds the subject exciting and think they can contribute and inspire others. Decide on an approach with which an effective network can be built ( can be both online and offline platforms). To start a discussion surrounding the topic of why is it necessary to preserve indigenous culture and art practices from an interdisciplinary perspective. Finally, think of building an innovative network for people to share, discuss and work on projects centred around folk practices and indigenous cultures.
Connecting people to roots and exploring, sharing, preserving indigenous culture and art practices.
