DSA dispute settlement body
The challenge
On 4 October 2022, the EU co-legislators adopted the Digital Services Act (DSA) - a revolutionary rulebook strengthening the protection of fundamental rights in the online realm. The DSA has the goal to create a comprehensive set of new rules for all digital services, including social media, online marketplaces, and other online platforms that operate in the European Union. It also introduces new binding, harmonized, EU-wide obligations which will have a significant impact on a wide range of digital services that connect consumers to goods, services and content.
The solution
We are working on setting up a dispute settlement body dealing with disputes between social media platforms, online marketplaces, and other online platforms and their users (following the adoption of the Digital Services Act in the EU). The creation of an independent, transparent, and fair mechanism will aim to safeguard the digital rights of people.
